Some legends say that Bijelo-Polje got its name from the white flowers that spring covered this entire city. Bijelo-Polje is in the valley, divided the river Lim. It is a picturesque town surrounded by rich pastures, wells and large forests. This region has been inhabited since the Neolithic and Bronze Age, as evidenced by the remains found here.
Bijelo-Polje is recognizable church of St. Peter and Paul, where the Gospel of Miroslav, one of the oldest and the most beautiful scriptures written in Cyrillic on the hide and decorated with initials and miniatures of vivid colors and gold. There is also the church of St. Nicholas, where there is a rich library and frescos completely saved.
