The Orthodox Church of Archangel Michael was built by the famous architect Milan Karlovac and combines elements of Byzantine style, Romanesque and Gothic echoes of Islamic influence. Such mixing of styles looks quite harmoniously, through the use in the construction of carved stone blocks. Its construction lasted 28 years, during the period from 1883 to 1911. Immediately after the completion of the church was inaugurated and opened to conduct the service.
The church attracts art historians, historians, architects, and many tourists from around the world. The interior of St. Michael the Archangel Church captivates pilgrims and tourists and is not inferior to her appearance. One has only to look at is made of Italian marble, a beautiful altar with an iconostasis. This handiwork masters Bilinich, a native of Split. The temple contains a unique icons, most of which belong to the brush of the famous artist Franjo Ziegler from the Czech Republic, as well as many Russian Orthodox books of historical value.
