A small fishing village located on the shores Lepetane Kotor Bay. In the past, it was called "The Edge of St. Lawrence" in honor of the martyrs brothers Andrew and Peter Lawrence, whose relics are now kept in the Cathedral of the Croatian Dubrovnik. The modern name of the village gave Lepetanus family of Perast.
In the early 20th century there was a quarry for building design of red stone, which was popular in the construction of terraces, squares and used for the construction of many homes in the Boka bay. Lepetane is connected with the village of Kamenari ferry. Many tourists use this steam ferry to significantly reduce the time on the road in the direction of Herceg Novi and Croatian border.
